The Department has been advanced by faculty members' involvement in international academic organizations. Many courses are taught in English for international students. Students are encouraged to attend international activities, and have received many significant awards in several important international competitions in recent years, such as:
- The 1st prize in the student design competition at 2013 European Microwave Conference;
- The 1st and 2nd prizes in the student design competition at 2013 IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS);
- The Champion of 2013 RoboCup Japan Open Standard Platform League;
- Three outstanding research works published in 2013 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), which is the premier forum for the presentation of advances in solid-state circuits and systems-on-a-chip;
- The 1st, 2nd, and 4th prizes in the student design competition at 2012 IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS);
- The Champion of 2012 RoboCup Japan Open Standard Platform League;
- Best paper awards in 2011 IEEE International Symposium on Integrated Circuits (ISIC) and 2011 IEEE International Symposium on Bioelectronics and Bioinformatics (ISBB);
- The first runner-up in the robotics competition at 2011 FIRA HuroCap;
- The 2nd and 3rd prizes in the student design competition at 2011 IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS).
