1.Brief History
The Department of Electrical Engineering at National Chung Cheng University started as a graduate institute in July 1990, and the undergraduate program was established in July 1992. The Ph.D. program was added in 1993 and the size of the undergraduate program doubled in 1999. As of 2018 there are 328 students in the undergraduate program, 307 students in the graduate institute, and 22 students in the Ph.D. program in our department. It is one of the best institutes in Taiwan for the education and training of professionals in electrical engineering.

2.Faculty, important characteristics, development and vision
The faculty includes 24 professors, 7 associate professors, and 4 assistant professors, all holding Ph.D. degrees from well-known domestic and international universities, with abundant work experience in related industries. All are passionate, hardworking, and excellent in teaching, research, service and teacher-student interaction. They are also involved in international organizations to expand their academic influence.
Our department has chosen Professional literacy, Problem solving, Cooperative teamwork, and Industrial trends as our four teaching goals, emphasizing both theory and practice in teaching. Since 2000, we have added a focus on Internationalization, promoting all-English courses and encouraging our students to participate in international events, where they have won numerous design competitions. For years we have produced many excellent graduates who now work for famous technology companies and educational institutions. Since August 2006, our department has obtained professional certification in Engineering and Technology Education, demonstrating our commitment to teaching quality.
The department has chosen Smart living, Physical and mental health, and Sustainable green energy as the main topics of our research (see "Research Areas") and promotes innovative research that will have a profound impact on the future of mankind.
The department promotes research and actively seeks research funding in seven fields of research: Computer Engineering, Signal and Intelligent Computinging, System on a Chip, Power and Energy, Communication Systems, Communication Networking, and Electromagnetic Integrated Circuits and Systems.

Over the years, we have obtained dozens of industry-university cooperation grants, as well as national science and technology grants, and large-scale grants such as Ministry of Economics academic programs. The results have been excellent, and have won awards from the National Science Council, Office of the NSoC Program, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, R.O.C.

3.Scholarships
In addition to university and college-level scholarships, the department awards scholarships based on entrance examinations, recommendations, and other criteria, as well as scholarships for outstanding students enrolled in the master's degree program.
